European Workplace Tutor: Multiplier Handbook

Overview
Product Description
The European Workplace Tutor Multiplier Handbook is an extensive document in which the broader results of the associated “It’s Time” Transfer of Innovation project are presented alongside an introduction to European Workplace Tutor Training Programme. The European Workplace Tutor Training Programme, presented as a series of modules, aims at equipping tutors with the competences they need to plan, deliver and evaluate training, to guide workplace and work-based learning processes and to assess (and respond to) individual and organisational training requirements. The European Workplace Tutor Handbook contains information on learning goals and learning duration alongside suggested mechanisms for delivery (blended learning concept). The Handbook, which is presented as a single “multiplier” document spanning 7 partner languages, also provides an insight into pilot testing actions held in 4 European countries.
Needs, Context and Use
Like many other education and training roles and professions, workplace tuition is changing, with increasing calls to professionalise this important role. Responding to this need, and building on existing profiles such as the Berufspädagoge (Workplace Tutor) in Germany, partners created the 'European Workplace Tutor Training Programme' (series of modules) and the associated 'European Workplace Tutor Multiplier Handbook', the latter providing an overview of overall course content and of pilot testing actions in 4 European countries. The 'European Workplace Tutor Handbook' acts as a starting point for those considering use (self-directed study) or delivery of one of more of the developed training modules. Notably, the 'European Workplace Tutor Handbook' exists as a single document spanning 7 European languages (English, Dutch, Finnish, Italian, German, Spanish and Portuguese) targeting wider promotion, take-up and use of the developed course content.
