EREIVET Learning Outcome Units

Overview
Product Description
In the EREIVET (European Regions Enhancing Internationalisation of Vocational Education and Training) project, Learning Outcomes units were designed and developed, specifically for use during a period of transnational mobility in VET, and centre on three distinct sectors or professions: health and social care, electrician and business administration. For each sector or profession, a series of micro-units exists, at EQF level 4, confirmed by partners as suitable for a mobility period of between 4 and 8 weeks. For the "health and social care" sector, 11 micro-units are provided; for "electricians", 3 micro-units exist; and for "business administration and services", a total of 9 micro- units are presented. In all cases, example assessment sheets are provided alongside the micro-units, the latter presented in the form of knowledge, skills and competences (KSC) that should be targeted by individual learners.
Needs, Context and Use
Original network partners in EREIVET, targeted increased mobility among VET students, alongside a more quality-assured mobility experience, with common learning outcomes descriptions (micro-units) able to be used as a template for the delivery or work-based learning, usually as part of a programme of international mobility. Where English is not the operational language of the mobility programme, users may be required to translate these to ensure the required level of understanding of all participating actors (teachers/tutors, employers, learners). This applies equally to the model assessment forms, with a need to relate these to national and/or institutional policies, practices and tools for the assessment, validation and recognition of achieved learning outcomes.
