Product Description

The EUPA Assessment Tool was developed with a view to enabling assessment of the knowledge, skills and competences of a Personal Assistant, or PA. The tool details specific assessment criteria in relation to predefined learning outcomes for a number of work areas. Example assessment exercises and tools are also provided (written exercises; verbal exercises; multiple choice questions). Work areas include: basic office procedures; knowledge of office equipment; basic business communication; basic written communication; filing and documentation systems; transactions and payments; business travel, meetings and diary systems; and, basic ICT skills.

Needs, Context and Use

Irrespective of way in which learning was undertaken, or achieved, the assessment of knowledge, skills and competences requires a clear framework for delivery (process, method, set of tools) and a clear set of learning outcomes against which all assessed learning can be measured. The EUPA Assessment Tool provides an important glimpse into some of the key work areas for a Personal Assistant and, in addition to detailing the expected learning outcomes, lists assessment criteria alongside a number of means for testing, gauging or evidencing learning achievement. The EUPA Assessment Tool can serve as a useful example of the alignment of learning outcomes with assessment criteria and tools, including for those operating outside of formal learning environments and systems, positively exemplifying some of the mechanisms and tools that can be used by those measuring or assessing learning achievement.
